Chief Operations Manager
Kayla has been an integral part of our team since she graduated from Anderson University in 2018. She has gained experience with us in just about every role other than veterinarian and is happy to apply that knowledge to her current administrative position. As an aspiring veterinarian, she has always carried a passion for animal health and welfare, and that is evident in her compassionate care towards our patients and their humans alike. When she is not doing vet-related work, you can find her traveling, curled up with a new book, or exploring nature with her camera in hand.
Sarah Van Staalduinen
Sarah is an NC State graduate with double majors in Animal Science and Applied Nutrition. She has lived with animals her entire life and has always had a special place in her heart for them. She has been with the company since 2019, and she loves her job. Not only does she have the opportunity to meet new people and pets on a daily basis, but she also gets to help those fur babies stay happy and healthy with their families. Her favorite things to do outside of work include spending time with her furry kiddos; two dogs named Ochi and Denali, and two cats named Juniper and George. When she’s not at work, you can find her hiking with her dog, or taking part in any other activities in which she can include them.
Hi! My name is Reeta and I have been working at Heritage Animal Hospital since 1999. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with Family,(including all the fur babies in the family) traveling, event planning, music, fashion, reading and needlepoint.

I was born in Canada but raised in the northern Virginia area. I grew up with horses and volunteering at cat shelters and have always loved spending time with any and all animals. After graduating high school, I went on to obtain a bachelors in marine science at the University of South Carolina. After graduating I started working as a vet assistant / tech and have loved every minute of it since! I am passionate about helping all animals, however I love marine mammals and cats the most! In my free time I enjoy reading, listening to music, and spending time with my four cats.
